Leading the way in important projects by transitioning to 5G with domestic elements, Turk Telekom has been the market leader in the Cyber Security Services category for three consecutive years according to the market research company International Data Corporation (IDC) data. It should be noted that the company increased the domesticity rate in cybersecurity products from 26% in 2018 to approximately 65% in 2023.

Turk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal, evaluating the 2023 financial and operational results, stated: “The course we observed in the important performance indicators we closely monitor in the first months of the year supports this view, and we expect a gradually improving macroeconomic environment in the coming quarters that will support our business lines. In this context, we believe that we will achieve our ambitious targets for the next year. Consolidated revenues, which were 91.4 billion TL in the previous year, increased by 9.6% to 100.2 billion TL.”

Fixed internet and mobile total operating revenues accounted for 70.4%. Mobile generated the highest contribution to growth by generating 6.4 billion TL higher revenue compared to the previous year. The 13.2% increase in corporate data revenue was largely due to growth in managed services, including cybersecurity and data center services.

The strong growth of 29% in other revenues was supported by IT solutions, call center, and device sales revenues. While net profit was 16.4 billion TL in 2023, total investment expenditures increased to 25.8 billion TL. However, the ratio of investment expenditures to revenue decreased by 50 basis points compared to the previous year, reaching 25.7%.

Important step from Türk Telekom towards 5G

A great cooperation has been achieved between Türk Telekom and Schneider Electric on industrial automation and energy management technologies including 5G.

We are pioneers in many trials for 5G in various fields that carry our country to the future. We implemented significant projects such as the first 5G-supported online remote surgery, the first smart tractor in agriculture, and the first 5G live match broadcast. The fact that the technologies used in all our projects are implemented by Turk Telekom engineers is one of the greatest indicators of our efforts for domestic and national technologies.

Mobile demonstrated a very strong performance in 2023. While the total subscriber count increased by 2.8% during the year, the postpaid subscriber count increased by 9.5%. The average data usage of LTE subscribers grew by 23.4% annually. The upsell count, excluding those made during commitment renewals, was 46% higher throughout 2023 compared to the previous year. The effects of the strong customer demand for our mobile services and our strategy, which we expect to maintain its effectiveness in the upcoming periods, were evident
